What would you do?

I really like my OB. He is a great doctor and always answers my questions and doesn't make me feel like a stupid patient. However, his medical assistant was very rude this morning at my appointment. She didn't realize I was sitting in the waiting room and she asked if any of the doctor's patients were there already. The secretary said my name and the medical assistant said, "Oh her again" and made that clicking noise with her tongue we all make when we are disgusted with somebody or something. I have never been rude to her. I think I may have irritated her by calling about my headaches a few times this week. I always thought that was my right: to call when I had a question or concern about my pregnancy. The secretary knew I was there and shushed her. The medical assistant asked her, "Oh is she right there?" Then started giggling. Very unprofessional behavior. I really don't want to switch to another practice because my OB is great, however I'm already getting fed up with his medical assistant. What would you do?

complain!!!!!
unfortunately, some people don't even realize how stupid their rudeness is.  Wonder if SHE ever went through all the emotions of being pregnant or having a baby.  We women have question and we deserve answers.  You are ALWAYS better safe than sorry when it comes to seeing your OB.

I would talk to my Ob if I were in your shoes.... If he does nothing else he should make sure that you have a different Medical Assistant treat you when you come in plain and simple... I would not change practices unless he refuses to do anything about it. It seems like you have a great doctor and I think he will understand where you are coming from.

Id talk to your OB about it. I know if it was me I wouldnt want anything to possibly compromise my practice so im sure he'll appreciate the feedback.

I would speak with your OB about that. Something needs to be done about her inappropriate behavior and I'm sure the OB would appreciate the feedback. If this is happening to you I'm sure it's happened to other women too. If your OB dismisses what you say and blows it off then I'd think more about if staying with the practice is appropriate. But if you have found a great OB I'd try everything in your power to stick with it and resolve the issue. Good OB's can be hard to come by.

Good luck!!
