A period is what happens after you ovulate. If you don't ovulate, you won't have a period. Sometimes you can have anovulatory bleeding, where you bleed or spot when you would expect your period, but haven't ovulated. Generally speaking though, if you aren't ovulating, you will not have a period.

You can have reular period withou ovulation,to know whether you are ovulating or not you can ask your Doctor for follicular study to know whether you are releasing egg or not .By this study you will be ab;e to know your fertile time also.

So a period does not mean you will ovulate.

Ovulation is the leading event, and the period follows two weeks later.  If you don't ovulate, as I understand it, you don't get a period.  But the period does not automatically bring on ovulation.  So you can have a period and cannot count on ovulation appearing two weeks later.

I hope I'm saying this clearly enough -- ovulation is the first step, and the period inevitably follows it.  But the period is not the first step to ovulation.

You can have bleeding it does not mean u drop eggs. I suggest some ovulation kits to help detect or ur dr can do some easy testing to make sure your releasing viable eggs.
