first ultrasound no heart beat.

I had my first ultrasound yesterday. I was measured at 7 weeks and 5 days but they didn't hear/see a heart beat. Is this a really bad sign?

I had an ultrasound done at 6 weeks 6 days & we saw and heard the heartbeat. It was an external ultrasound.

If your doctor asked you that it's because something was wrong, did you have an internal or external?

They saw my babies heart beat at 8 week's with an internal and my baby was very active during it but that's not typical. If your doctor didn't put you on bed rest or bring you in for further examination don't worry about it.they usually don't do ultrasounds that early for that reason you can't really see anything. As long as you aren't bleeding/ clotting your not loosing the baby.

I don't want to be a downer but I would worry. If they used the vaginal ultrasound then they should have been able to hear the baby's heart unless your due date is wrong and you're really 6 weeks. At 6 weeks they can't hear the heart.

Usually doctors can see heartbeat by 7 weeks. Dont go off the measurements.  Count from the first day of ur last period.  Also was there a fetal pole?

Most don't see a heartbeat until week 9 or hear it till week 11 or so. I know it's hard but try not to worry yet. Did they tell you to come back around then?
