How early did quickening start for you??

I have been feeling flutters since what was believed to be around week 8. I know it's what I'm feeling, and as time goes by, I feel them more frequently and they're getting kinda stronger? I don't know how to explain it...I usually feel them the most when I lay down or (especially on my left side) right after I drink something cold or eat. I know it's not gas, and this is my first child. I'm 10w3d today (or so we think) but I find out for sure on the 20th.

Another thing I need advice on -  I keep saying "we think" because I have ALWAYS have very regular periods, they've never been late, never early, they've always been 9-11 days long and I'm a pretty heavy bleeder (TMI, sorry) but my last period was early, wayyyy shorter (only lasted 4 days with a 5th day of brown discharge) and it wasn't nearly as heavy. I wasn't stressing, hadn't changed my diet or anything like that and like I said, until then my period has always been the exact same every single month since 2 days after my 9th birthday. Have any of you ever had this happen and not find out you're pregnant until the next month or so?? That period was kind of the reason I tested - I tested about a week before AF was due at about 5:30 in the evening right after I'd gone pee an hour earlier and still got a bold, strong BFP. Also, I've gained about 6 lbs (I was 117 starting) and I have a longer torso. My picture is from 8 weeks and I'm a little bigger than that now. I can also feel my uterus about a half inch below my belly button??? What do you ladies think? I'm so confused!!!

One more thing - when I got my blood drawn at 9w3d, my HCG was like, 156,000! Is that high or normal??

I'm 44 years old. My son is 31 yesrd old (Got pregnant at 13), but in July of this year I had spotting for the first time since I was 13, followed by some  abdominal cramps for a few hours the next day. My first period after that was ultimately heavy as usual but from September till now, it stops like 2 days earlier and is lighter. A week ago I started having these light heart palpitations and funny movements in my stomach. Could u ask ur Mom what finally caused her to KNOW for sure that she was pregnant, cause I have been postponing a pregnancy test out of fear of getting a negative result. My Husband says that my breasts are  astonishingly bigger and for the past few months I've felt light aching in them. Just dont want to be disappointed though.  I just found out today that pregnancy does cause palpitations by reading the posts and that baby movements start around 16-22 weeks, which is how far along I would be if I am pregnant. I also recently found out that women can bleed monthly during pregnancy. Now I'm kinda excited but also afraid of disappointment at the same time. Need a little support I guess.

Yes, I have a u/s on the 20th - I'm anxious to see what they're going to say. I didn't find out until after I'd wrote this that my mom and my twin aunts actually bled throughout at least 1 entire pregnancy. My mom didn't even know she was pregnant with my little brother until she was almost 20 weeks along.

Danny, my uterus is tilted as well - towards the back.

Hi, im around 14 weeks give or take (they've changed my EDD 3 times now)  And i feel some flutters every now and then but nothing too distinct.  I have a severely tilted uterus as well, so when the baby does move, she tends to move to my right ovary, and its actually kind of painful.  But i have actually been feeling my baby move since about 9 weeks because of that.  So i am sure you are most likely farther along than you have been told =)  Have a great pregnancy!!!!

You're probably farther along than you think.. maybe that short period was actually just implantation mixed with some other bleeding[since implantation bleeding is actually just a little spotting], because it seems to happen for unknown reasons... I'd deffinitely agree that you're farther along.  And you look bigger than just 8 weeks in that picture, especially for a first baby..and having a longer torso and such.. guess you'll find out on the 20th.. ultrasound i'm guessing?

Like njeosys said the baby isn't strong enough yet to be felt. This is my first pregnancy and I'm a pretty small girl and I didn't feel anything for sure until about 15 weeks. I thought that maybe I had felt things earlier than that but once you feel and actual kick or flutter you'll know because it is VERY different.

You're actually not feeling your baby. It is your intestines because they are being pushed up and forward, making room for your uterus, you can feel them rumble and such.

Your baby is still too little and weak to make movements that you can feel. There are several "layers" a baby would have to push or kick at for you to feel (the sac, the uterus, possibly the placenta, any fat and tissue you have, and your skin). Around 16 wks is when women feel the first baby flutters.

Maybe you are farther along than what you think. I know you can spot from implantation, but you said it was like a shorter period? Do you get an US done on the 20'th?
