baby measuring 10 days behind at 32 weeks

I had my 32 weeks ultrasound yesterday and baby is measuring only 30w 3d... OB checked fluid and blood flow and both are good. i am having a very compact belly. he/she was measuring right on 27 weeks when i had the check up. and later at 30 weeks Ob was concerned there is a lag and sheduled for the US. She didnt say there is any growth restriction and things are still fine but we need to increase the protein intake and make it up in the next 8 weeks i have.
What could be the reason baby is falling behing now?? Anyone else in this situation and what were your outcome? Appreciate any help.

Try to keep in mind that first of all, sometimes these things just happene, there's nothing you did or didn't do and b) the further along in your pregnancy you are, the less accurate the fetal measurements are.  They may be DEAD ON or they may be off quite a bit.  With my first pregnancy my daughter had growth restriction, I think in her case it had a lot to do with the fact that my amniotic fluid was always way low.  She was born at 40 wks 3 days, was 18 1/4" long and weighed 4 lbs 15 oz, she was in NICU for four days until she got over 5 lbs (hospital requirement for discharging an infant) The only reason it took her so long was becuase she had a hard time coordinating her sucking and swallowing when eating.  She has been healthy every since, she's now 13 and normal size.  Unless you doc seems to be really worried, I would try to relaxe and just do what doc says!!!
