genetic testing...

Is anyone else not doing any kind of genetic testing? There are no genetic defects thay run in my family or my baby's fathers . And my Dr was just so uoset it seemed like because ididnt want to doit she was like it doesnt matter and ik ow it doesnt but ijust dont want to doit am I in the wrong?

The test is done with your blood who care if they do it?  In the long run you find out what you having and if there's anything wrong but your baby

They usually do genetic testin when sumn is wrng u should listen to ur doctor

My boyfriend and I decided were not going to do it either! Why stress yourself over something that is only going to give you you're "chances" of the baby having the defect. We will love this bby no matter what and however he/she comes out is how our baby is intended to be :) and like what was said before most ultrasounds can detect major defects and that is enough for me!

I did it just because you never know who could be a carrier of something and never physically be affected but then later on in future generations it can randomly show up. But your dr shouldn't be upset they should know by now ppl are going to do what they feel is best for their child

Ijust dont want to know ifeel like my child should be fine because no one else ever had anything wrong but even if there was id still love my child . My dr was like well are some people want to terminate the pregnancy if something is wrong and wouldn't and she just seemed so angry

I didn't have the testing done.  My theory was that I was happy to have my babies no matter what and would take whatever I'd been given.  On an ultrasound, they can often tell certain things so felt that was enough.  I went to a large practice.  I saw two different doctors when it was time to decide.  One was like "no problem" and the other tried to give me a hard time.  I was firm.  I'm not a child and I can handle whatever the situation turns out to be so just told her a flat no, that's my decision.  turned out fine.

I did it.....my little girl has right cleft lip and palate and they claim they don't kno where it came from I'm still waiting on the genetic results.

They didn't ask me if i wanted it they just took the bloid n couple days later got letter in mail saying my baby has no genetic defects but nory family or my husband's have any defects so i didn't mind it wouldn't had matter ether way
