Lol i dont think ur baby will need that much of a big size
My Son was 9 pounds, he still fit nicely in newborn onsies.. in fact the 0-3 month stuff was really big on him... you're making a big deal out of nothing.... as already stated, every brand measures things differently... and onsies will stretch out the morethey are worn, so stop stressing on them all appearing to be the same size lol
I was thinking my kid could come out chunky and just plump but i think i mightve exaggerated assuming she would jump straight into 3-6mths! Hahaha i saw how some moms here do talk about used clothes and still being good but it wasnt an option for me since there is none of those stores here in my place. So far i checked :P i think this ought to make me a little bit more smarter next time.haha
Like the other women said, it all depends on the brand, I have some onsies like that too. But just as an idea, get at least a couple newborn size things, cause although my son was 8lbs at birth and my daughter was 8lbs 12oz, they both wore newborn size clothes for at least a month after they were born(and they were chunky, haha).
Your welcome! Don't buy brand new if you don't have too. Go to kids consignment shops, salvation army's and get gently used. Even thought we can afford brand new clothes for both our kids i still rather buy used,it really does save money! You can get name brand clothes super cheap(I could careless about brand but prefer carters and childrens place so that's what I mostly look for)
So this means im out shopping again.haha thanks sooo much you two. Im so glad you both replied to my post!!!!! I was so panicked when i opened them last night.lol.ranting~ anyways, best of luck to you both and congrats on ur babies soon! Im April mom btw.but i think she's gonna come early.this is the one feelinh i just cant help or get rid of:P
With our first everyone said nb was pointless so we did not get them, we had to go out shopping right after she was born, she was in nb till she was almost 4 months old cause of medical problems so this time we got about 14 outfits and about 16 PJs(few are 0/6 month sleep sacks), few hoodies and extra long sleeves for layering since she's a winter baby all nb. You want enough for about 2 outfits a day and 2 PJs a night in case its needed and you would not have to do laundry every other day. Its good to start on bigger sizes tho!
As for how long it takes them to outgrow the sizes. Every baby grows at their own rate. My son is still very little for his age so he was in 0-3 month clothes until he was almost 6 months old before ever going up. He was a little behind on growing. My daughter on the other hand grew very quickly. For instance, shes two years old right now and wears 4t tops and 3t bottoms.
I dont think it was dumb to buy them. Thats not what I was meaning. I plan things out so I literally have boxes of clothes from premiee to 5t. I have boxes of clothes my kids cant fit for awhile because I get a lot of them given to me from family or friends and it makes life so much easier when they start out growing clothes because it saves me from spending so much money later trying to restock their closets so dont feel dumb at all. I have probably more clothes than my kids will ever wear so im probably not the person to give you a good idea of how many outfits you should buy for each size. . .
Ohh..well guess buying 3-6mths was pretty much a dumb move for me.bump.alright.so few newborns and 0-3mths. How many of them did u mommies actually get for your babies and how many of them did u actually end up using?i feel like ive wasted so much already with this and im a bit scared to shop now.plus,im going to be confined for roughly about 2months after birth which means i cant get out shopping or anything.its some old fashion asian thing i cant avoid. But anyhows..yeah..i just want to know how long too will it take for them to outgrown the clothes.
I agree with other poster, very few baby's are born going right into 3/6 months. Almost all babies at least start out in 0/3 if not nb. So make sure you have a good amount of 0/3. You don't know if the baby will be big or small, ultrasound estimates can be 2-3 lbs off.
With my son I took a newborn outfit and a 0-3 month outfit but he was so small that even premiee clothes were too big. With my daughter I had gotten a little bit of everything but only put premiee, newborn, and 0-3 in her closet and dresser. She came home wearing newborn clothes and within a month was wearing 0-3 months. For this one I was told hes measuring big but I still got some newborn stuff but I mostly have 0-3 month ready for him. I havent met anyone whos baby wore anything bigger than that in the beginning so I would suggest getting some newborn and probably more 0-3 month clothes than newborn because the baby will be able to wear those longer.
So do you think i should just buy the newborn size or the 0-3mths? What did you get? I dont know if i want to wait till my next ultrasound during my 27th week to estimate her weight n size but i dont think my baby could be heavier than 3kg/6lbs. Whats ur advice?what did u get for ur baby?im a ftm btw.
Even if you have a big baby I wouldnt think you would need anything bigger than 0-3 month to start with.
Different brands size things differently even in baby clothes. The 3-6 month should be a little bigger than the 0-3 and the 6-9 should be a little bigger than the 3-6. but again its the different brands. Thats why they look the same size.
