Bring it up with your OB.
The main symptoms I have are severe itching and it's worse at night.
I told my OB that I was itching(before I even knew about the condition) and she immediately sent me to labor and delivery to have a NST and some labs drawn. Sometimes the labs come back positive but sometimes they don't. And even if they don't come back positive and your doctor still suspect's you have it they can try to treat it early on with vitamins and induce you when you are about 36 weeks but in my case since I'm so far along they are just inducing me. The only for sure cure is giving birth
How do you know if you have it.? Cz ive been itching as well
Thanks ladies. I am 39+6 today. So I'm not being induced too early. I get severe itching and mostly at night. All over my body. Legs, arms, neck, back, face, hands, feet, stomach. Feels like I have chicken pox. I can't sleep at night. They tested me yesterday but had to send some test out of state but since im so close anyways they just want to be sure and get baby girl out. And yes it's called obstetric cholestasis
Mostly at night time when im trying to fall asleep. Feels like my skin is crawling. My doctor assured me I probably don't have it though since my test came back normal.
How bad is the itching? I get some too. I know about that condition with liver not function properly. But i don't know what is normal what is not
Cholestasis? My doctor thought I had that abd I was tested last week. Said my bile results came back within a normal range abd I'll have to be retested next week. I dont think I have it, but i looked it up and was freaking out when I read about the still born thing. I talked to my DR and he told me that it is a possibility but its really really rare & that's usually when it goes undiagnosed, but they induce just to be sure it causes no further complications. Im sure you and baby will be fine. Don't worry. Good luck on your induction. :)
Good luck! I'll keep yOu in my prayers!
Hoping for the best for you and your little one! Xoxo
