No one in my family has ever taken birthing classes so niether am i. I have heard its a waste of money and my dr said when i am in labor if i need to know anything the nurses will be able to help you our
I've taught childbirth to teens, and I think one of the most valuable things you can get out of them is connecting with other pregnant women. I always allowed a LOT of time for social interaction and encouraged them to exchange phone numbers and keep in contact.
I didn't take them. My labor went pretty good even tho I was induced. But the nurses pretty much tell u what to do and when to do it.
I think it depends on the classes, I have heard that the free ones at the hospitals are very generic and not really beneficial.my husband and I are currently doing a Bradley method class, and I have really enjoyed it. It teaches you about all the different interventions used in birth and the statistics for each. It also teaches different laboring techniques and just information about labor and delivery. I am due in 30 days and it has helped me write out a well thought out birth plan with different information for them to go by in the event of a non complicated labor or if complications arise. Plus I love the class because it focuses on husband/partner coached labor and delivery.
I found mine somewhat helpful. Mines were also For teen parenting
I did with my first. But i was at a school for teen pregnant and parenting moms. So it was mandatory but they teach you different ways to deliver your child and help you through the breathing part. But if you get the laughing gas that will also help you through the breathing. I personally didnt find it helpful
Yea evn I am ftm on 21 weeks now want to know abt them..
