bit confused about ovalution

hi i wonder if anyone can explain ovalution as i cant get my head around it, ive been on a fertility site and it worked out when my most fertile days are and when the egg is released (ovalution day) im trying for my second child but i want a girl this time my son is 18mths and i got pregnant just afew weeks after i stopped taking my pill it wasnt planned but this time it is the thing is it says the best changes of  having a girl is to have sex 3 days before the egg is released as the male sperm tend to die out faster so they cant get to the egg but its kinda puzzling the way it works, my last period was on the  4th october and my husband and i have had sex from 13th october onwards its my lastnight to have sex as tomorrow 18th-20th are my fertile days which the site i was on says to have sex before these 3 days (18th-20th) as i could have a boy on these days if i had sex and the 21st is ovalution so my egg should be released... the left over sperm from this week should make me conceive (a girl hopefully) but im not sure if i have done this right, does this all sound the right way to do it??? as its confused the hell outta me

If you want a baby then yes do it on your fertile days.this is the best time.they say have sex every other day leading to ov as sperm has chance to re-energize..as prayerful wife said.keep going.good luck.

thanks for your replys fingers crossed :) but i thought you werent supposed to have sex on the fertile days but hey at least my husband wont be complaining lol

If your fertile days are coming you definitely DON'T want to stop doing the baby dance.  Use all of those good days to TTC.  Then once ovulation is over just start praying really really hard that it's a girl.  Truth be told, there's just no way of knowing.  God will provide!  Good Luck

A baby's gender is determined by the chromosomes in the sperm, not the egg. XX makes female, XY makes male, all eggs contain an X chromosome, so sperm donates other X or Y chromosome. female sperm live up to 5 days and male sperm live up to 3 days.    ive read somthing like that have sex 6 hours before ov to concieve a boy,or sex 4-5 days before ov for a girl,however there is no proof of this..its the luck of the draw.interesting though,my friend been trying for girl followed these sites,but has 4 boys,so who know.
