C-section

I've been watching birthing videos and really would prefer a c-section. Is it possible to request one instead of a natural birth?

Why would you want to request a c section. Birth is one of the most amazing experiences you can have as a woman.  Your body was designed to do this! Not to mention all the stress from pain medicine that is put on your baby. Don't let hollywood scare you into thinking this is an agonizing experience. I birthed naturally and would never do it any other way. I learned what I am capable of, and how amazing our bodies are. Sure request a c section lol you can also request to be put on a respirator so your body doesn't have to do work ever. Do some more research. Also watch "The business of being born" its truly eye opening. Don't give your doctor a hefty pay check by getting a c section.  Do what nature designed you to do. Its a gift. Do not waste it.

well, i guess ill answer your question since ^^ just wanted to critize, in the end its your decision and a c-section is so much easier on you, the baby and your body, im having a scheduled c-section August 20th(if not before) my doctor didnt want me to do natural due to stress but you can always opt for a c-section, your doctor will usually go with your decision unless theres a reason not to but a c-section only lasts 20-40 min and they can give you a spinal so you feel nothing(much better than a epidural). and if your babys umbilical cord is wrapped around its head a c-section wouldnt put as much strain on the cord and they could simply unwrap it :) hope this helps

Csections aren't terrible.. the first day I was in a lot of pain, especially when they start pushing on your tummy. But the next day I was up and walking around. But to answer your question, it never hurts to ask your Dr if that's what you want.

I too delivered my baby by c-section but my personal experience is NO NO for a c-section if any emergency. I prefered for vaginal birth but my baby was in breech position and in my last ultrasound my baby's umbilical cord was wrapped 2times around his neck. So dr scheduled a c-section after 5days when i turned 38weeks and we dint wait more for baby to change from breech position due to umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.
I was in massive pain for first 24hrs that i used to cry. Dont think c-section is just a surgery of 1hr and its done. For me natural labour is much better though i havent experienced but atleast the pain is for few hours only but once baby is out u r releived. But in c-section u feel handicaped for first 2-3days and still there is a pain which decreases day by day. It also depends on person to person.
Like Brittani45 said i will appreciate that-  we are designed to go with natural birth our body has that capacity to go through this pain. So enjoy this beautifil moment which u will cherish ur whole life. Unless if there is any emergency u can opt c-section :)

If i had a choice i would have gone natural with my first i had an emergency c section n now im goin on my third im high risk n had complications with my first so i didnt have a choice...its always ur choice hun n no judgement here what ever u choose just make sure u look at the pro's n con's of natural n c section births every woman is different i had difficult recoveries every one of my c sections i was in alot of pain after n recovery was no fun for me plus the recovery time is longer than natural birth...like i said its ur choice hun but make sure u get all the info u can before u dcide fully on a c section :)

Of course its your decision. Just make sure its an educated one. Watching some birth videos and wanting a c section just seems a bit rash. Do not let fear influence your birth is all. Sheesh :p

i wanted to have a natural birth, got to fully dilated and started pushing, but babys heart rate kept dropping dangerously low so had to get an emergency section.  during that they discovered i have a very narrow pelvis coward such, i can't give birth naturally so should i have any more children, ill need to have another section.  a section isn't easy - its painful on your body you can't move that same day, and can't really do anything for the first week or so, and its about 6 weeks of recovery.   the labour part itself wasn't so bad, its bearable with meds.

its your choice though, whether you want to go natural or have the section, but there are pros and cons to each, i wouldn't say one is better than the other. labour gives pain for a short while, sections give pain for weeks after x

Please go with what you feel. If you have done research and feel that is what's best for YOU then talk with your Dr. No one can tell you your decision is right or wrong. Regardless you are bringing a beautiful baby into this world whether they pull it out or you push it out! I can't have natural child birth so I had a c-section with the first and a scheduled c-section with this one and I am just fine with that!Good Luck!
