That makes me sick to my stomach. I know the feelings of all types of abuse. It's something I'm still trying so hard to get over. But, I will never be completely healed.
That baby must have a purpose! As for the 16yr old(s), they need to serve a LIFE SENTENCE!!!! Acting so stupid can cost you so much. I feel for that baby!!
I am really feeling sick right now. The world has gone mad!
ive never witnesses something this horrible, but I was involved in contacting CPS on my neighbors a few months back because a 5 yr old boys parents left him at home with the FLU! My daughters normally play with him and he always shows up alone, and walks around alone outside. (we live in apts next to the beach and the highway, and its not the best part of town.) anyway he came to the door crying, sneezing, coughing and running fever, and said he was alone. so I got him inside, and went to knock on his mothers door. i knew his dad was gone on deployment but she was nowhere to be found. and her car was not in the parking lot. !!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooo MAD. so i called CPS. This lady was gone for 6 hours before the lady from CPS ever got ahold of her, then she came to my house and was like "I told you not to go outside I was just taking out the trash" right. because that takes 7 hours. funny part is. I got a letter in the mail saying they didnt have any evidence that it was negligence, even though the lady from CPS was here for 5 hours knocking on their door, calling her, etc. and the little boy said she was at work and what time she got off and everything. thank goodness hes in school now, better there than with his stupid mother. and i just want to thank those in the child protective services that actually DO THEIR JOB. because this one sure didnt.
I wanted to look up the story and read it and they are SHOWING THE VIDEO on the news channels that covered the story. I am just flabberghasted. I did NOT need to see the actual video. Oh man, oh man, oh man! No words.
I had not heard about this and I am sufficiently sick to my stomach. I don't even know what to say. That is so heart-wrenching and disgusting. If ANYONE did that to my child, and then had the AUDACITY to upload the video, I'd kill them. Plain and simple.
that is why i'll never have a teenager.....or anyone who isn't my mother, sil or dad babysit my boys. you hear about these stupid, irresponsible, sometimes uncaring teenagers (or adults) who babysit while mom and dad go out for a nice night or for whatever reason and the next thing you know your getting a phone call that you're baby is being rushed to the hospital or worse they died. makes a mother paranoid and never wanna let go of their little guy/gal.
that boy deserves everything he has coming to him and more! i disagree that the boy taping the incident wasn't charged. he has just as much fault for not telling any one!
All of the kids there should have been arrested and since the parents left the baby with a family to watch... The video guy's parents should be in trouble too. They were being trusted to care for someone's baby and they left it up to their 16 yr old kid who was obviously not mature to handle it. Shame on the adults in the family that was suposed to be watching the kid. I personally think that there should be a few more people behind bars for that one. I can't even imagine what I would do if I found out someone did that to my three year old let alone an infant. I'd probably be in jail for my actions if someone had done that to my kid and not regreted it for a min. I truely believe that although it is the parents right to take care of and raise their children, it is everyone's responsibility to watch out for each and every kid out there and help when or if it is needed. Thank god for the teacher who saw this injustice and took appropriate measures. I'm so glad to see that there are some people out there who won't just look the other way.
Thank you mj_momma_manda. I'm glad that they did get arrested. That kid must have something seriously wrong going on in his head. Both of those kids. What kind of human being who didn't have some sick mind would do that. I really hope that baby is ok. It's very frightening.
That really makes me want to cry. I am at work and holding back tears just reading about it on your post. I can't tell you how much it angers me.

I feel the same way that you do. What kind of world have I brought my children into and how long will I be able to protect them? I hate the thought and I am truly at a loss for words......Either that or I would have entirely too much to say on the subject for this post......
Now that 16-year-old boy is charged with felony cruelty to a child. He was arrested after a Lee County school teacher saw the video and called the Sheriff's Office.
It's a mother's nightmare. A 16-year-old boy demonstrates, for the world to see, how to, as he put it, 'make a baby fly.'
He puts the baby on an inflatable pillow, then jumps on the pillow to launch the baby through the air.
The baby landed several feet away on the floor and can be heard crying.
"It was terrible," says Lee County Sheriff Harold Breeden. "I can't believe a 16-year-old kid would do something like this."
The 8-month-old child was left in the care of the family of the teen who was actually behind the camera shooting the video.
The Lee County Sheriff's office got a call from a Lee County High School teacher who was shown the posting by another student. Fearing for the child's safety she called investigators, and now her former student is in the detention center.
"He's incarcerated in RYDC," Breeden said. "We took him down this morning and he has been arrested and charged with cruelty to children in the first degree, and in the third degree."
The first count for violence to a child under 18 and the second count for allowing his 16-year-old friend to see the violence by encouraging him to videotape it.
The teen who videotaped it is not charged with a crime. Pediatrician Donna King, who has 8-month-old twins, says the baby could have been seriously injured.
"Trauma to the skull, of course comes to mind at first. A trauma to the skull resulting in the fracture of the skull which can cause a contusion to the brain, bleeding inside the brain," said the doctor.
As for the teen's actions, the Sheriff's office hopes others will learn from their mistake. "It's not going to be funny when the judge gets through with him, he'll think twice next time you know, about how funny it was," Breeden says.
The video has been removed from the YouTube site and the teen, who's never been in trouble before, must now await his fate in court.
The Lee County Sheriff's office has asked the baby's parent to have the child seen by a doctor, they're still waiting to hear if the baby had any injuries from the fall.
The kid who did it is actually in Juvenile detention and hes facing criminal charges or something.. Idk ill look it up and paste what i find.
That is truly disgusting. They should lock up these 16 year olds. Let them sh!t in their pants because they are scared just like that little baby. If I were the parents I would knock those kids teeth out.
That is terriable. Teenagers are terrible. I have not heard about this story before you posted this. Where were the childs parents??? was the kid babysitting... I have worked in a Childcare facility and would never put my infant son in childcare.... They are terriable to infants....
Example: There was a 6-7 week infant in the baby room and he had colic so they put sugar on his binki constantly.... I believe the only way the parents found out was because the chile was diabetic.... I quit as soon as I found out about this... I could never work for a person who knows things like this are going on and does nothing about it....
I wont put my son in chhildcare until he can tell me about his day and what goes on... Call me over preotctive but I since I can stay at home I choose to....
I read about this on cbs I think.. I thought it was disgusting.. You hear about all these kids that are supposed to be "responsible" doing this dumb stuff.. I dont think that they realize how fragile a baby is.. I remember when my littleist sister was about 7 months old we used to do this on the air mattress but not jump full force on it.. One of us would hold her and the other would bounce on the other side of the air mattress and she would bounce up and down.. I was 12 and I knew not to do something that dumb.. Its common sense a baby shouldnt be flying through the air. I heard that it landed on its face but was otherwise okay.. Makes me scared to leave my son with my 16 year old sister..
