Mirena PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a 3 year old son, I had no problems getting pregnant with him, and a natural healthy pregnancy with him...i got the Mirena after I had him, and in January 2010 got it removed (as they say you can try right away after having it removed) we tried and got pregnant and in April 2010 (I was about 12 weeks pregnant and had a miscarriage) I then had to have a D&C and we tried again after my first cycle (as my doctor told me to wait until my first cycle) I just recently got pregnant in August 2010 and i'm about 6 to 7 weeks pregnant..i went for an ultrasound 3 weeks ago and just saw the sac, then a week later saw the sac and my yolk sac, i went again for another u/s Wednesday (6 1/2 weeks pregnant) and no baby, my body has given no signs of a miscarriage but my doctor said i could receive a D&C, i'm terrified because i don't believe they are correct, my first miscarriage i kind of expected it because i did bleed a lot, but this time i have no signs...any advice from anyone to help us threw this would be great!! Also, was wondering if there is anyone that also had the Mirena and has had difficulties getting pregnant

There is a such thing as a "missed miscarriage" in which your body fails to recognize a non viable pregnancy therefore it does not rid itself of the pregnancy. However if you have doubts that this is what has happened I'd get both a second opinion and wait a week or two that way you can see if it takes longer for baby to grow or for your body to recognize it is a non viable pregnancy. I wish you the best of luck!

I had the mirena for 4 an 1/2 years and got it removed in march 2010 I waited one cycle to try and then got prg in may... I am now 21 weeks preg with my 3rd boy.... It doesn't seem that the mirena has anything to do with these situations.... You should talk to the dr.... I have seen many people unable to concieve for up to over a year after mirena removal but it wouldn't affect you bodies ability to sustain a pregnancy.... Although a lot of woman had miscarriage if they fell preg the same month the mirena was removed which could be because the mirena thins the lining of the uterus
I think your issues may be unrelated to the mirena...

I'm very sorry for your loss I couldn't imagine losing a child.

Sorry forgot to mention that i have 4 kids already, 21, 20, 17 and a 9 year old, so If I have trouble with this one, I know I will be blaming the Mirina. I would advise ladies who are thinking about getting this inserted to do some reading and studying before anything. This IUD is a bad bad bad thing!

Hi Jamie, I  am 41 and had my Mirina out on the 27th of August this year, and fell pregnant in September, I am now 4w6d, however I have a long way to go till I am safe. I am suffering from High blood pressure. I am sorry that you have had this happen to you, and I wish you all the best.

I should also mention there is a such a thing as secondary infertility when you have trouble conceiving the second time around.
