Sorry to hear about your baby and glad everything turned out well. Still dont know about a c section though.
I thought a c-section was the worst idea ever. I wanted a vaginal delivery no matter what. After going in to be induced 10 days past my due date and not dilating at all for well over 24 hours, I decided on it. Had the baby and found out the cord was around his neck and ankle. I don't look at c-sections the same anymore and will be just fine to have a repeat c-section.
I am terrified of the idea. I dont think I could go through with it. It scares me a little. Well I hope the hospital im going to does a c section as the last option. I want to try vaginal birth too. :)
Most hospitals make you sign release forms when you check in clearing them to do an emergency c section. I was terrified by the idea and I think I would refuse too unless there was a very solid reason for it (such as a transverse breech or placental abruption/previa). A lot of doctors don't know how to deliver breech babies any way but through surgery but I don't care if I have to change providers at 39 weeks, I would try first for a vaginal birth.
Will I hear people get one and say that they had one because the baby wasnt in the right spot so they had a s cession or its becauae the cord was wrapped around the throat but others have told me that doctors usually can reach up and turn the baby or unwrap it from the neck. So just wondering.
Normally they won't schedule one unless there's a reason why you would need one. If its an emergency I don't think you can refuse though..
