can i be pregnant with the Marina

Hi i have had my marina in for 4 years an never had a period and now i am feeling as though i am pregnant i have had tender breast, feeling bloated, nauseous, tired, craving i have done a test and it come back neg but i dont know if it could be a false reading due to the marina.. is that possible??

yes it has happened to me, i was on marina for 5 years and yes it is possible

Hi. The Mirena is supposed to be 99.99% proof. I guess there's always a chance for you to get pregnant but in all reality it's a very very slim chance. I'm sure you know this but...The Mirena thickens your cervical mucus to prevent sperm from entering your uterus. It works as a barricade and prevents sperm from fertilization of your egg when you ovulate. IMO the symptoms you're feeling could just be that...Symptoms. I'm no expert or anything but I was on the Mirena for 2ys ( I just removed it in October) and I'm still TTC. My recommendation would be make an appt for a blood test. That will be the most effective way to find out if you are pregnant or not. Good luck:-) keep us all posted
