Membrane stripping help, thoughts?

I'll be 37+2 on Tuesday and my dr wants to do a membrane strip if my cervix has moved any.
She checked me this week and it hurt I even spotted a little bc it was so far back.
I've been reading on it and some say it works, some say its pointless.

What thoughts do you girls have on this procedure? Does it hurt or just uncomfy? What exactly does it do, speed up the labor process or what? I'm a little confused on this. Any help is much appreciated!!! 24 days left whoop whoop! I'm so ready for my lady!

Ahhh lol see that makes me nervous!!! Its not a def that she will do it, she said only if the cervix has moved forward. I don't think she wants to make me go thru too much pain. I'msuch a scaredy cat when it comes to paps and checkups I hate when they're all in my privates! And some of them are so rough thank god she's gentle but it still scares me.

Thanks tho I appreciate yalls experiences with this!

At 38 + 3 i had mine done and im also VERY semsitive down there. Just getting checked makes me cringe. I had to close my eyes and breathe deeply while she was doing the sweep to keep myself from crying. It was a ton of pressure and hurt pretty badly. That being said, it didnt put me into labor either. So it wasnt even worth the pain :/

Thank you. It freaks me out a little bc I've become so sensitve down below since my pregnanct began, I'm scared I'll end up crying my eyes out from the pain lol. I hope it works tho!

Its a bit uncomfortable nd hurts a bit, its suppose to help with progressing your labor but its not the same with every patient so goodluck

Ok awesome. She did tell me that once they strip me the baby could come within the week :) I hope so! :)

it hurts bt its really fast, they swept mine the day before my due date i was already 3cm dialated and the nxt morning on my due date i went into labour, had my daughter 8 hrs later.
