Ok ok so I'm super upset right now cuz well my older sister died 6 months ago.. now I was planning on naming my baby I have after her... ok well my cousin just had her little girl this morning and she named her baby after my sister...

Ok well she asked me and my mother if it was ok for her to do this both my mother n I said no becuz I'm naming my baby after her!

And now my new little cousin is named after my sister n I can't name my baby after her?!

I can be upset over this can't I? Or am I just being selfish?

Her name was Alexis Renee Amaya... my younger sister plans on naming her baby Renee neveah amaya... my cousin named her baby Alexis diana (instead of lexi like she's been saying she would all her pregnancy)

This is just so upsetting I'm only pregnant becuz my older sister convinced me to get pregnant so my nephew had a little cousin to take care of...

Well she took my older sisters first name... my younger sister already called naming her baby my older sisters middle name so I feel completely screwed over cuz I saw my cousin 2 days ago n I told her what I was nameing my baby n how I appreciated her for respecting my wishes.. becuz she chose to like shorten the first name so she could have it too... n I said that was fine n now this... its completely ruiened my day n everything!

Omg I'm so sorry for your loss! I would be PISSED OFF!!  In my opinion I wouldn't name my kids after a passed loved one just to keep their name in honor.. but the same thing happened my cousin passed away 2 years ago and his sister ended up pregnant and wanted to name her baby after him.. but an aunt of mine named her baby before my cousin did! Whoa was the whole family upset!!!

I don't believe you're being selfish.  I'm sorry for your loss. My older sister passed away 2 years ago this may, and if I have a little girl she will be named after my sister.  I think that's kind of rude of your cousin in my opinion.  But you could always incorporate her name differently somehow,  like a part of the first name or the middle name.
