cerclage question

I'm 8 weeks today and this is my third pregnancy. The other two didn't make it. In July 3rd 2013 I had a d&c at three months due to obligated ovum. The second I was 6 months with a baby boy and there was no heart beat when I went to an appointment. I was induced and had him in January 20th 2014.and later found out there was a blood clot in his umbilical cord. I am high risk pregnancy since the first baby and I'm wondering if cerclage will help me not miscarry or have any complications.
Has anyone had a cerclage. If so, what has it done for you and what are the pros and cons of a cerclage? Any pain? Miscarry? Please update me I'm 20 years old and would like input before sing a doctor ob. Thank you.

@WorriedMommy4TheThirdTime - No, yours is completely different and they'd tell you if you had that thru ultrasound or if you were pregnant before and had a baby early due to  dilating early which didn't happen with both your previous pregnancies.

Like^^^^ said a tilted cervix had nothing to do with it. Incompetent cervix means your cervix won't stay closed to hold the baby in. Since yours was a blighted ovum and an umbilical cord clot they have nothing to do with a cervix.  The only way a dr would put one in its because your cervix wouldn't stay closed which was not the case from what you said. It's not really an optional thing. They only put it on if you absolutely need it.

I read that cerclage also helps when you have a second trimester miscarriage.and I've had two. Idk if I have a incompetent cervix but is there a way to find out cuz I never asked about that!

I need a cerclage with every pregnancy because I have a  incompetent cervix and my body can't hold babies to full term. My first pregnancy I had my baby girl at 18 weeks, she didn't make it. I have a cerclage right now with this pregnancy. Just because you have a tilted cervix they won't do a cerclage. Your pregnancy had nothing to do with your cervix and having baby early, thats why women get cerclages.

Thank you @shinieshoes they did tell me my cervix was tilted....is that a reason? I researched cerclage but I want people's input of what it's done for them. I read that if you've had a second trimester miscarriage or loss if a stillborn then a cerclage is going to need to be fine in order for you to have children without a miscarriage....but idk

You only need a cerclage if you have an incompetent cervix. Your cervix wouldn't have anything to do with either of the reasons you miscarried.  Sorry about your miscarriages. My first I had a molar pregnancy and my second I had my fallopian tube rupture so I understand your worry. To my knowledge I don't believe it would make a difference. Third time is a charm though! Congrats and good luck!
