Cysts on the brain, small chin, fluid in the kidneys, those are the 3 I know of. My son had all 3 & they told me his chances of D/S were high. They all cleared up & he grew & now he is great :)

The nuchal translucency test can only be done until11+4 after that it is too late as babys grow at different rates. And even if you are high risk tthat's still a 1 in 100 chance. 99 of thowe women will NOT. Have a baby with DS. So you really could be stressing over nothing. Try to relax. As there isn't anything you can do either way. It's a chromosomal abnormality that was present at the moment of conception. You haven't done anything to cause it. Try to think positively and just wait until you see your Dr next and hopefully he can put your mind at rest.

When checking for downs they check for things like cleft lip, nuchal translucency, soft markers on the heart and brain etc. Your sonographer should have told you whether everything looks okay or not. If you're concerned, contact your doctor.

Hi I know they measure the skin of your baby's neck (the back) if it's thicker than a certain mm and they also check the bone(s) in baby's nose.

They can also do a blood test. Ladies they can only be 50% right and if they are there is nothing they can do about it just stay positive.

Fluid more then 3mm in the neck is high risk, check on ur scan if it says how many mm. Cleft lip, but not really noticable.

Think its something to do with the amount of fluid at the back of baby's neck

I think it's the measurements of the neck, if it's too long or short they suspect Down syndrome
