well I phoned hospital and explained I had spotting and my stomach was aching. But they said because I only had a little spotting and baby is still moving then there is nothing wrong so there was no point in going down. But I'm gonna go to the doctors tomorrow just to get checked as the hospital refused to do so.
I just dealt with this today. I woke up and had bright red spotting when I wiped. I called my on-call doctor and he told me to head into labor & delivery to get checked out. I was there for 6 hours but it was so worth knowing that my baby is completely fine. They examined me and then I had an ultrasound to see if the placenta is deteriorating or if my cervix is shortening. It was such a relief to know that I'm not at risk for pre-term labor! Good luck I hope everything worked out well for you.
Hope it went well. Always get bleeding checked to be safe. If its nothing, you get peace. If its an infection, you get treatment. If its preterm labor, you have a better chance at a positive outcome if you know about it and are being monitored
ok thanks ladies will have to call the hospital as doctors is closed and can't get hold of my midwife.
I agree with Amy give the doc a call and get checked just to ease your mind, but there is so much increased blood flow during pregnancy making things way more senstive and engorged with blood. So, it's easy for a small vessel to break or get irriated during sex or even if you were on your feet a lot that day ect. When I was pregnant with my son I would call for everything...lol... because you just never know... but I am sure everything is OK :)
I would suggest calling your doctor and having them check you. It's probably nothing but it's always better to be safe then sorry, plus I'm sure you will feel a lot of relief after being seen if your told it's nothing. I had light pink spotting around that time and my doctor checked my cervix both by hand and an ultrasound to measure the length to make sure it wasn't pre-term labor. If you've had sex recently, that could cause the spotting as well.
I would just call them and have them put your mind at ease. Please keep us posted, I'm sure everything's fine!
