I had the same issue! I didn't dialate until my 40 week appt. I started using primrose oil at 39+3 & I insterted 4 at bed time every night & when I went to my 40 week appt I was 2cm & 50% effaced. I really think it helped!

Im 37wks and im.dilated to a 1 & starting to thin and to be honest I haven't done anything except have sex. Im not sure if sex is the reason for this but I do have sex everyday, unless I can't due to really bad cramps or something.
tmi.but I do make sure when my boyfriend c*ms that he is really deep inside of me. And I never clean my self down there right away. But like I said, im not sure if this is the reason for my progress but I will continue doing it.
