Honestly, I started out overweight and I was determined to exercise, eay healthy and stay within the healthy weight gain. Well, I am only 22 weeks in and I think I have already gained what I should have gained throughout the whole pregnancy. I cannot seem to control how much I eat and especially what I eat! I figure, gain the weight now and then when the baby is born I can start to lose the weight and go on the diet. And its true, although I am still tired in the 2nd trimester, I can actually get up out of bed and go for a walk!

Being as you are pregnant it's not wise to try and lose anyweight.  If you started out overweight your doctor should expect you to gain less than the usual 25-35 lbs.  As for feeling tired, weak and dizzy..those are symptoms of pregnancy and can affect anyone regardless of weight.

Just ensure that you are eating healthy and in moderation but make sure you aren't cutting back on the amount you eat.   Moderate exercise like walking can help.

I understand where you are coming from. I am on my 6th pregnant that has made it past the first trimester.  I have been overweight with 4 of them.  Of those 4 I gained under 20 lbs and have either come out of my pregnancy weighing a little less than when i started or weighing almost exactly what I started at.  I dont cut back on the amount of food I eat, I just pay more attention to WHAT I eat and make sure tha tI'm not OVER eating like I have a tendancy to do.  One thing that can help with the fatigue and weakness is to get out and walk, preferably in sunlight.  Get plenty of rest even if you have to take naps.

Just remember growing a baby is hard work and it takes a lot out of you. What you are feeling is completely normal.  Once you hit the 2nd trimester you should start to feel a little better for awhile.

All you can do in pregnancy is exercise. You cannot go on a diet while pregnant, that is very unhealthy for the baby. Your best bet would be to talk with your OB about ways to maintain your weight now, and avoid gaining any weight, since you're able to be physically active d/t your fatigue and overall malaise. They will give you the best, safest, and healthiest suggestions!! Good luck. This yucky part will pass soon. The first trimester can really take a toll on your body!!
