Thank you. It seems like mine is actually caused from constipation but I've been working with my doctor so we will keep an eye one it. Thanks for your reply. :-)
I have ulcerative colitis, and mucus and blood in the stool are very common in my condition. Honestly the mucus was the first indication. As my condition progressed ('flared') the number of stools per day increased and the stomach pain/bleeding started. Other conditions that this may happen include rectal prolapse and celiac disease (I did a lot of research before I ended up in the hospital!). Pregnancy can exacerbate UC so it wouldn't be unheard of if you had a mild case (any other stomach issues that you can remember? Once I really thought about it I had had symptoms of flares for 2 years that I wrote off as other things!) and all of the sudden things became more noticeable and active. There are simple blood tests (as well as stool tests) for UC and all other conditions. Not sure if a dr. would perform a colonoscopy while preg.
Good luck and fingers crossed for you!
