Hemrroids anyone?? :(

I dont think I have the guts to ask anyone in person so I guess I can post this on here and hopefully woman will respond. I'm currently 20 weeks preggo with twins and have what appears to be hemmroids. At first they were just super painful (to use the bathroom) and now it seems that they are bleeding. Has anyone else had experience with this and if so what did you do to make them go away? I was thinking about taking a bath in Epsom salt but i'm just not sure!! Please help!!

I had them with my son, and the Tucks and Preparation H definitely work! Also, you can put a cold, wet rag there to help soothe and help the swelling go down. Good luck! :)

I have none of that, Just gushes of blood when I go for movements..
although I did find out something today. right, (TMI)
whilst going for a number 2, sit with your back straight and either have your feet on tippppey toes or have a stack of thick books, it makes the body think you're squatting, which then opens the passage more, and reduces chances of piles and hemorroids and any other problem... I am full of weird info!! LOL.

I had the same thing happen about the same time as you, my mom also said she had them with me and my twin brothers. I went to the doc for mine at 21 weeks because it started to bleed and they sent me home with preperation H and tucks pads. Im not 24 weeks and after using the tucks and preperation H it was completely gone by 23. They are veryyyyy uncomfortable and painful but the best thing i found to do was i was take one of the tucks, fold it in half and leave it on for about 15 min,i would make sure to put a pad on near your butt though or the tucks will leave a wet spot on your pants from the witch hazel LOL

Thank you ladies for your advice and information! I am happy to hear that there is something out there that will reduce the swelling and pain but sad to know they wont go away until after delivery :( I still have 3-4 months to go. I'm going to buy some Preperation H first and see if that works for the burning and if not I will try the pads that Losingmymind has suggested. Thanks again ladies!

Hemmerhoids are an extremely common side effect of pregnancy.  They have these pads called "Tucks" that you can put on the anus. They are saturated in witch hazel and it helps to relieve the burning/itching.  There is also hemmerhoid cream and suppositories that will help.  Typically they will get much better after you give birth, but they most likely will never go away completely.  Like Grandmatobe said, make sure you don't get bound up (or get diarrhea) becuase either will just aggravate them.  There's nothing that can be done to make them go away.  If they get too bad the only option is surgery after you give birth.

This is common in pregnancy.  They can be soothed by using Preparation H, which will also reduce the swelling of that area.  Also, drink lots of water and try to avoid foods that bind you up (like cheese, etc).  Eat lots of fiber, fruits and veggies.  Try not to strain when going to the bathroom - - - in other words, if you can't really "go", then don't try.  The extra straining increases the swelling and you may have bleeding, etc.  Hope you feel better.
