detecting a heartbeat

I was wondering when the earliest you can see the heartbeat with an internal untralsound is.  I have an US appointment booked for next Friday and I think I will be 6.2 weeks.  Is this too early?  Should I move it back a few days as at this stage lots happeneds in a few days.  Don't want to freak myself out that there is something wrong when it could just be that it is too early.  Anyone have any experience with when you saw your babies heartbeat.
Thanks.

Thanks, I rang the US place back and they said all pregnancies are different and that usually about 6 weeks should be fine - so I think I am going to keep the appontment and hope for th best and who knows maybe I ovulated earlier than I thought , which would be great news.

Thanks ladies, I might call the US place and ask what they usually see  on their screens and decide from there.

I saw my babies heartbeat at 7 weeks 3 days. You should be able to if you're really that far, but if your dates are off then it's very possible you won't. It's usually best to wait till 7-9 weeks just so you don't scare yourself for no reason.
