Has anyone tried Vicks and Olive oil in ear for a earache?

There's two remedies my ex mother in law used on me for ear aches... one is using a plant called ruda toasting it in a piece of aluminum foil over stove top and in a piece of cotton ball smear a bit of vicks vapor rub or instead of ruda use a piece of garlic and do the same of toasting n smearing vapor rub.... hope it helps :)

Olive oil is great my mom always use it for us.. And it work
