essential nursery items? second time mommies enter please!

First timer here..what do I need to buy? What are essential items for the nursery or general that you couldn't of lived without? I'm so clueless on cribs and strollers and pumps that we don't even know where to start or where to do research. We are only 8 weeks so when did you begin buying and putting together a room? ANY advice will be helpful.

Definitely see if your insurance covers an electric pump! It is such a life saver. A Boppy also comes in handy. For nursing, yes, but more so for play time. Baby can "sit up" with it long before they can actually sit up. My daughter loved hers.

Oh, and start buying diapers now. Lol!

Graco has good seats. My sister has one. I'm going with the diono radian because it can be used with an infant, it has the highest rear facing limits, it's steel and it's very narrow. The graco 3 in 1 is very bulky.

My bouncer actually saved my life. It allowed me to shower cook clean ect. I would definitely invest in one

Thank you both. Have you looked at the Greco 3 in 1 car seat? Looks like it lasts a while but I haven't seen many talk about it

We are going very basic... Mattress on the floor, dresser with changing pad on top and cubbie shelves for toys.
We aren't doing swings or bouncers or anything like that.
Oh and the obvious carseat (convertible vs the infant bucket and then another seat later) and a stroller. I am splurging on my stroller though. I'm getting the orbit g3. For the carseat, I'm getting the diono rainier

I waited until we found out the gender , just because than I could really decide what I wanted and needed. I will be trying to find a bargain deal on a rocking chair though lol both my boys loved being rocked to sleep and im sure I'll be rocking our baby boy in September lol
