I take my glucose toletence test on Wednesday and I'm dreading it lol. As far as I know its just that your baby could get so big it will be dangerous to have a vaginal birth so you will have to have a c-section.
Did your drs call you to let you know that your levels were high, or did they let you know the results at your next appointment?
I also have it, so does my friend, I have to test my sugar after each meal. As for my friend cos her levels are still high she has to give her self insulin at night. I have also heard u have a bigger baby, not good for me when my girl was 9pound 6, and I didn't even have gd with her, but I was 11 days late, I'm booked in for a c section at 39 weeks, so hopefully he isn't a whopper.
If your sugar stays high when they cut the cord your babys sugar will drop and the baby will have to be put on sugar could cause no handling and even longer hospital stay for him or her and its dangerous I have gd:(
I have it...my results were high from my 1hr so they just skipped the 3hr....the same happened with my last pregnancy. it just puts you at risk for a large baby. you have to watch your sugar/carb intake and prick your finger after meals to make sure your levels aren't getting dangerous. Also they will have to check baby after he/she is born because sometimes they have trouble maintaining their sugar levels if the mother had it.
I have pcos too :( but, I just wasnt sure what the risks to the baby. I have heard of the baby being overweight. But that's the only thing
I think its like 4% of pregnancies but for me I have a 50/50 chance b/c I have pcos. Good luck!
