Being induced at 730 today, dont understand why

Hi mommas! I had a ultrasound at 8AM yesterday because my baby is measuring small im exactly 37 weeks and my baby estmate weight is 5pounds 2ounces. Her due date is july 17th. She has been 3 weeks behind but they said now shes only 2 weeks behind. So i went home thinking yay my baby is improving. By 6PM they called me. Told me that at 730 tomorrow they was inducing me!?! Which is today at 730!! They said she is smaller then they thought that she keeps going down on some percentile? I dont fully understand why they are inducing me? Any one been threw a similar sitution? Any advice for being induced? Everyone has me scared to death, saying being induced is the worst thing ever!

Being induced isnt horrible! I was induced and it went really smooth. Every doctor I saw said that my
Daughter is really small and they would be amazed if she was 7 pounds. Had her at 39 weeks and she weighed 7 pounds 6 oz(:

I'm 37 weeks today and this is our first. Obviously, I can't give you any personal experience, but I did want to tell you not to worry nor stress too much (which I know that's easier said than done). The other women's advice sounds comforting. I would call and ask the doctor exactly why you are being induced. If you do not have a clear understanding and are confused, then ask the professionals. They can tell you better than we can. Good luck and hope you have a safe labor and especially delivery!

They said my son measured small but induced me the day before my due date. I didn't even need an epidural. Being induced was a smooth delivery for me. After they gave me pitocin to start my dilation it only took 6 hours and he was out.

A lot of times babies are small due to placental insufficiency. If she keeps dropping on her percentiles there is good reason to induce because she is likely not getting what she needs through the placenta and continuing to keep her inside could be more dangerous than taking her early. At 37 weeks she should do fine being delivered now.

They are inducing you because she isn't growing correctly. It is better to deliver the baby early and allow them to grow on the outside where they aren't restricted. It could be that your uterus is not growing enough to accommodate her. Don't panic. Drs only induce this early when necessary. And you are technically full term anyway, so don't worry.

My friend just went through this. They are inducing you because they would like to know why she is measuring small , they cannot know until she is born:) good luck mama everything should be fine.
