Pencil and the string test.. Gender question

Has anyone ever did the pencil and the string test.? My mom did it on me and it supposedly shows what the sex of your  baby is (if you're pregnant) or if you're not pregnant how many babies you had and will have in order and what sex they are. Basically, you get a wooden pencil with a tip and string and tie the string to the pencil and it hangs from the eraser part of the pencil. You're supposed to hold the pencil an inch from your wrist (if your not pregnant)or several inches from your belly and the pencil starts to move in either a circle (meaning its a girl) or line (which means boy). when my mom did it to my belly, it said it was a girl. When I had an ultrasound they said it was a boy o:... Has anyone had it happened when they were told it was one sex and it came out the opposite.?

I would trust the ultrasound tech, that's just a wives tale, even if it's right for some people. Congratulations and good luck!

That test your mum did is probably some old wives tale thing, the ultrasound is a trained person actually looking at the parts of ur babies body! I think id rather trust them, though im sure there have been mistakes made in the past so u never know! Just keep reciepts for anything u buy just incase lol
