When a foley is used in induction, it's inserted into the vagina and there's a balloon on the end of the catheter that is inflated to help dilate the cervix...it's not being used for the urinary tract.
Oh i just googled it nd its the ballon .. im goin to tell yu the truth i had that ballon thing nd for me it hurt like hell .. the way they did it to me was the but a tube with i gues was the ballon at the end nd at the other end it had 3 tubes so he was suppose to put wat they put to inflate the balon by those tubes with sumthin but i only let him put 2 cuz it was hurtin.. but then again i was at 4cm for like 5hrs nd it was my first bby to take it out he just pulled it .. i really didnt had a nice experience at all
Cath is uncomfy for a few seconds only.because its foreign to ur body. Have u ever had to be straight cathed? Foley doesnt hurt half as bad. with a foley, they inflate a "balloon" so it doesnt come out. But, make sure u do not strain when its in. Pushing a cath out is extremely painful. They will deflate it to get it out.
I didnt know that was used to induce labor .. i had it but it was bc they didnt want me to get up to use the bathroom
Yeah I was induced with both my previous pregnancies the catheder didn't hurt me maybe a pinch putting it in but other than That I didn't even know it was there :)
