Sorry to hear that you didn't get your BFP, don't give up just yet though it may too early to detect that you are indeed pregnant!

Well tested on a First response yesterday after work and BFN! No period symptoms yet, but feel it may come when least expect it.. it has been 7 weeks this thursday since last one!!!! I didnt have periods with coil either and i keep thinking this is why it is taking so long.. I know its only been 3.5 months but thought it would have happened by now :-(

Was just readin a fertility article and it was quite scary the amount of things that can affect getting preg, like caffeine and fatty foods etc. My partner smokes and drinks cola, so both of them were a no-no, so am now chewing on that we havent had the best start, so am going to look after myself a bit moer and he said the same.. Fingers x we get something soon, i suppose my period would be welcome so that i know nothing is wrong.. M<y last period was 24th June.. so thats quite a while now... Wish i knew what was happening.. thanks for the replies those ladies, very much appreciated..

I had the Mirena for 3 years. My period went away while I had it which was great. After removal I had all of the crazy symptoms and my cycles were anywhere from 30-47 days apart. It was maddening.

It took us about 9 months to finally get pregnant after removal. I really don't even think I ovulated till 7 months after removal. But, I'm not sure about that. Doctors say you can pregnant right away and some women do. I think it just depends on how your body responds to birth control hormones.

It does sound like you might be pregnant. Good luck with your second HPT!

Hi there,

Your stats were a great help actually, it took 8 weeks after removal to get period and in that time i had cramps, heahaches, bit of sickness, all signs of pregnancy. Had my first period 5.5 weeks ago, last 2.5 days.. has bit of cramp the week after n felt bit weird so went to docs who said i wsa fine, just body adjusting. Was waiting for my next monthly which would have been 22nd July, never came, havent had cramp nor spotting. Just feeling sick to point of nearly being sick twice, and a bit tired and emotional. Took hpt yesterday, saw first line straight away and within 2-3 mins it wsa in bin, (not thinking that the 2nd line can appear afterwards, stupid me, but at 9am think i was still half asleep) so threw it in bin, to discover it an hour later with the 2nd line there.. I dont know whether it was there at time and i hadnt noticed or whether it was a evaporation line, which said in leaflet can happen after 30 mins of reading.. I am taking another test tomorrow and will let it rest the whole 5 mins...  I am getting a First Response today for tomorrow as i have heard they are the best.. x

I had my IUD (Mirena) inserted on June 13, 2007 after I had my son and had it removed on July 2, 2009, it took me 39 days before I got my first period, and I know some women who it's taken 90+ days to receive their first period. Your body's just trying to get back to normal, I know how frustrating it can be while your sitting in lingo, not sure weather your pregnant or when your first period will show up, but try to be patient it will happen when the time is right! Also your body will play tricks on you after the removal that make you think that your pregnant, I myself went through these, and boy are they not fun, especially since period and pregnancy symptoms are so similar. Most women will agree that the bleeding after removal is just removal bleeding not a period. Also I know a very few women who have gotten pregnant right away after removal, so anything is possible, but most Dr's will advise you to wait at least one cycle so that your uterus lining is thick to hold the baby. It took me almost 7 months till I finally got my BFP (Big Fat Positive). Also I would start taking prenatal vitamins ASAP, my Dr told me to start taking them 3 months prior to conceiving to make sure that your body is ready to go. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy. Good luck and hope this helps!

Here are my stats after Mirena removal:
July 2, 2009 ~ Mirena IUD removed
July 2-10 2009 ~ Very very heavy bleeding from Mirena removal
August 10, 2009 ~ First AF after Mirena removal, 39 days it took to get it
August 10-17 2009 ~ AF normal 7 days for me prior to having Mirena inserted
September 2, 2009 ~ Positive OPK ~ 16 days after AF
September 13-20, 2009 ~ AF, didn't use OPK's this month
October 15-22, 2009 ~ AF, didn't use OPK's this month
November 18-25, 2009 ~ AF, didn't use OPK's this month
December 20-26, 2009 ~ AF, didn't use OPK's this month
January 6, 2010 ~ Positive OPK, BD using Pre-Seed found at babyhopes.com
January 7, 2010 ~ BD without using Pre-Seed
January 17, 2010 ~ Very very faint positive (11dpo)
January 19, 2010 ~ BFP (13dpo) using a First Response Gold Digital with first morning urine, so it took me almost 7 months to finally get my BFP!

P.S . You should join the group How long did it take you to conceive after Mirena IUD removal, the women on there are very supportive and helpful..

The first few months after having mine out my period was all over the place, either really early or really late, they have now settled into a 28 day cycle.
