hcg 11449 & no yolk sac or fetal pole
Hello everyone, I went to the ER on Sept 8th for cramping. The pregnancy test was positive. However, when the U/S was done the Doctors couldn't see a pregnancy. My hcg level was 578. They have been monitoring my levels ever since. On Sept 17th my Hcg level was 11449 and when the tech conducted the U/S they saw a gestational Sac but NO yolk sac or fetal pole. Supposedly, according to the U/S I was 5wks & 1day. Because of this the doctors scheduled me for a D&C tomorrow.
What should I do? I mean, this has never happened to me before. I have never had a miscarriage. Should i go ahead with the procedure or should I go for a second opinion? HELP... I'm desperate!

I am so happy to hear this great news! See all you needed to do was wait it out. I hate that some Doctor's jump to conclusions with out waiting it gets us nervous and in the end it could be for no reason!
I am so glad you waited too! Some drs seem to jump the gun and want to "treat" as soon as possible. When I had my ectopic, my dr monitored me so closely, but waited as long as possible. Althought I was in so much physical pain, I am glad she let me wait as long as I possibly could to end the pregnancy.
I am SO SO SO HAPPY you were able to wait. CONGRATS and relax and enjoy now...it's the best thing ever! :)

done the same as me and double checked obvisly we had differnt circumstances but would have lead to the exact same thing,am so glad you double checked and went with your gut feeling of waiting,keep us posted on how you are getting on :) xx

Ladies,
So i went to another hospital complaining about pelvic pressure so I could get an emergency u/s done. The doctor starts the ultrasound & tells me well the baby seems fine. I almost died! He told me that the fetal heart beat was ok that I shouldn't worry about the pressure unless I started bleeding. Can you ladies believe that? I have a baby inside of me. I lived in agony for 2 whole weeks thinking I had an "blighted Ovum" I'm not out of danger yet. i still have to start Prenatal & i want to get another u/s. You ladies have been such good support. Thank you so much!

I hope that you are hanging in there ok! I also say about 8 weeks, even a few days after wouldnt hurt. I know its tough, but really its just too soon! Everyone is different, every pregnancy for that matter. If I had gotten the D&C when they suggested, this beautiful little girl would not be here today. As I mentioned in earlier posts she wasnt seen until 8.and a half weeks, I had repeated ultrasounds with high hcg's and nothing! Then when we did see her they bumped my due date up half a week. Sometimes we just have to rely on our faith not the doctors. They are always so eager to rush us on things...I pray that you see a baby in your next ultrasound. Have you spoke to your own Dr. yet? Are you levels (hcg) getting checked? Did you check out that website? I will try and post a link here for you.

Hi, I would go back at 6.5-7 weeks for u/s. If you don't see the fetal pole there, then the chances that you are still pregnant are slim. Then you can schedule D&C. That's what happened to me. At 5 weeks, they saw only a sac. At 6.5 weeks they didn't see a heartbeat and told me that I have no baby inside. Still, we waited another week to make sure nothing is there. ONLY THEN, at 7.5 weeks, they scheduled a D&C. At actual procedure few days later ( I was 8 weeks by then), they did the sonogram one more time and only then the procedure. So schedule another sonogram at about 7 weeks. Also, the symptoms can still be there :(
I've never been pregnant but reading over to comments honey I feel that every agrees that u should wait until u are bout 8 weeks. But keep getting HCG tests. Goodluck!
With both my pregnancies they didn't even want to see me until I was atleast 8 weeks, Because before then it is hard to see anything. I would wait until you are atleast 8 weeks I know how hard that is trust me! But it will be worth it in the end.
Hi everyone, I followed everyones advise & didn't go through the D&C. I'm just confused as to when I should go back for a second opinion. last friday I was 5w1d so today I should be 6wks.
You should get tests for home use to see if your hormones are increasing. I'm hoping for the best!

Well I DID NOT go through the D&C procedure... I couldn't do it. I mean, I have morning sickness. I feel bloated. I totally feel pregnant. I guess Im just holding on to my symtoms. However, I know thats not a good thing. Anyway, I'm gonna wait another week even though I really can't! I'm so nervous that I want to go tomorrow.
Whenever you feel lonely & want to vent you can keep me busy by writing....
