help!

I went in to the ER yesterday when I noticed blood after I used the bathroom.  I am currently 7 weeks preganant. They ran my tests and my hCG levels came back high at 11,000+but they preformed an ultrasound and told me that I had an empty sac.  After doing an exam the doctor said I felt normal for 7 weeks but the ultrasound showed no baby.  Do I have hope here in this pregancy working out for us?  It is killing me to wait 2 more weeks for another ultrasound. I do go back to the doctor in 3 days to have my levels checked again to see if they are increasing.  But the doctor sounded like I may miscarry.  Wow what a shock.  I am so worried.

Unfortunately the doctors were right.  I went in for more blood work on Monday and the numbers did not even double in 4 days but they did go up.  They did another ultrasound confirming that they saw an empty sac.  The doctor told me that my pregnancy was doomed and I was devistated!  I went in on Tuesday, the next afternoon and had a D and C, that was so aweful.  Now I cannot believe what I had to go through.  Now the question is how long do I need to wait before we try again?  The doctor recommended 3 months but oh my that seems to long, We want to get pregnant again as soon as possible.  We are so sad it worked out this way, we tried to hang on to hope even up until the surgery :(

Doc's USUALLY know but they can be wrong. I wouldn't wait the two weeks for another scan, get your blood drawn. Your levels should double every 48 hrs.
