house train

Alright so I have a kitten who used to only go in the litter box and now all of a sudden this week she has decided she wants to pee on the carpet. She doesnt do it all the time but im wondering if anyone would know why? Im not due until September but would like to have her retrained ASAP so if anyone has any tips please help me. Im getting desperate. I need her trained before Bella comes and before I move into my apartment

You should get her nuetered:) or she could be jealous, get a small spray bottle, put water in it and whenever she is trying to pee anywhere besides in her box spray her slightly with it and put her in the liter box so she knows what she did wrong and whar needs to happen. I hope it gets better:)

It could because of the dog sitting too. I know you said before it was peeing in the house

How often do you clean her litter? Cats can be very high maintenance. She also could probably have a bad bladder infection and need to be on a special diet. Infections ARE more common the a behavior problem. When I was younger we had a feral cat who peed on our carpet we thought it was a behavioral problem but she had enzymes in her kidneys that wouldn't digest right and was very painful for but even the special diet didn't help so we let her go. Inhaling the urine is bad for you and your unborn so taking her to a vet is a must! Good luck.

She might not be marking. My mom's cat started doing that and she thought it was just for attention but by the time we noticed something was actually wrong he had to be put down. It was kidney and liver failure. And if she is making get her spayed asap and she'll stop. And what's wrong with having pets around your baby? Mine will be there (supervised of course) but there's nothing wrong with your pets being around your baby unless they are aggressive with him/her.

I would just mention it when you take her on the fifth. A behavior reason is more likely then an infection. So i would try having somebody clean the box more or maybe a different kind of litter or seperate her and the dog when noone is there to watch them first before spending money at the vet

She is going to get fixed on the fifth. Should I take her to the vet before then? Last time she saw a vet was when I adopted her which was in June

Whens the last time she was at the vet? Maybe try moving one of the litter boxes to the corner she likes to pee in. I work in a veterinary clinic and cats usually have inappropriate urination for only a couple different reasons. 1. If the dog is a bully it might not let her get to the litter box or she might be afraid. 2. They are very finicky creatures so if the box isnt clean to her standards she wont use it or 3. She might have a bladder infection or a uti

We have two litter boxes. She sleeps in the downstairs bathroom at night and then during the day they have access to both litter boxes. She does need her own space I agree, I think part of the reason is because the dog is a bully to her and she gets scared. The other cat just plays with her, but the dog will charge her. She only pees in one corner of the house other than that she goes in the litter box. She is a good kitten. Im hoping once I move out she stops but I gotta get her trained before I can move out. Should I put her litter box in that corner?

Could be anxiety starting in. My friends cat randomly started peeing on her carpet and only thing that worked to get her to stop was mess from a vet. Only other things I can think of is make sure there is more than one litter box.

Great. Just when I start getting my baby girl's stuff she decides she wants to mark. She wont be around my daughter when she is born without someone in the same room. I wont even allow my sister's cat around her when she is born. How do you stop them from marking? Could it also be because there is a male cat and dog in this house as well?
