membrane sweep 36 weeks am i being selfish?

I am a high risk pregnancy and I am going to attempt a vaginal delivery since my last was a c section the baby is engaged and I am 1cm dialated. The sooner I go into labor the better the chances for me to have a normal delivery. My last child was born at 36 weeks with no complications what so ever. This baby is almost 7 lbs already. I just want to know if I'm being selfish for opting for a sweep this early. I know shed Do better if I waited but the fear of going through another section is enough to put me in a panic. What do I do? Am I selfish?

Depends on Dr or midwife really but over here, they would never do a sweep til you're at your due date. The reason being you have a due date for a reason so why try encourage baby along before its ready to come out. They wouldn't touch you unless because of medical necessity

Is your doctor willing to do a sweep this early? I also asked and they told me they don't do them until 39 weeks. They also said 1cm isn't wide enough to do a sweep. All drs are different

Its all in the doctor and pregnancy. If the doc is comfy with it then by all means, who am i to judge? Good luck! Im 36 weeks and soo impatient.

I dont think thats being selfish. Sometimes the sweeps work.and sometimes they dont. If your doc gives u the okay and will do it then id go for it. I would want to avoid a csection as well:)
