Family issues/ doc apt @ 9w 3days

My question is..., I went to the doctora on thursday, they gave me a pap, an tried hearing the heart beat, they say the uterus hasnt dropped yet, was wondering if thts a bad thing or what to expect, I have an ultra sound coming up on friday.. I went to my cousins grad party yesterday, & ppl only had negative thought & info for me , I'm tired of walking around the corner & hearing ppl say **** about miscarriage, my boyfriend was so upset cause it seems noones happy for us& only think thr worst

You should be able to hear the heartbeat via ultrasound (not on the doppler, the other ladies are right) at 9 or 10 weeks, so make sure you ask your doc at your next appointment. Hearing it will definitely help you feel better, and it's a very good sign. I heard my baby's as early as 6 weeks, with a transvaginal ultrasound.

I didnt get to hear my babys heart beat until i was about 12 weeks pregnant. The tech at my 8wk ultrasound wouldnt tell me what sounds we were hearing or anything so we didnt for sure hear a heartbeat until our next appt at 12wks.
But i have heard that the heartbeat can be very hard to find until about 11 weeks.

As for the family being discouraging, dont let them bother you, people can just be cruel. When i first got pregnant my in laws would say awful things to me and it made me so upset all the time but one day i just decided that i was no longer going to listen to my in laws, i decided that rather they like it or not i was not going to allow them to bring me down, i was going to be happy no matter.
Sometimes you just got to ignore family or just have a complete breakdown on your family to make them understand how you feel and how immature they are acting! Hang in there!

Ok...first off...9w is too early to hear the HB with the doppler in the office because your uterus is still hidden down in your pelvis. My drs wont even attempt it until 10w and even then they dont expect to find it...within the next few weeks...like 12w-13w your uterus will pop out from your pelvis and things will be easier to hear...see and feel!!! Dont let them get to you!! It sounds like your right on track :)...screw the negative nellies!!

Don't let other people discourage you or bring you down, just wait til you see the doc and go from there...Hope for the best for you and your baby!
