is it possible to get pregnant after my tubes have been tied?

I am 30 years old and had my tubes tied 6 and half years ago.... I have missed periods before and the next month mother nature made sure that i made up for it. i have only ever missed one at a time in the previous times before now. Like a lot of married people we are very sexually active. When i missed one period it was no big deal.... 2 periods we blamed stress.....now i have missed 3 going on 4 and while giving myself a breat exam i noticed that i was lactating... I have had a little bit of spotting and my sister in law insists that its very possible to get pregnant.... does anyone have any answers for me ? I am taking a pregnanacy test later this week....but im too impatient to wait.... I wouldn't mind having another baby..... but i'm more scared now than i was with the 1st 3.

Yes it's possible. You should test now because since you missed 3 going on 4 periods it's likely your actually a few months along. You need to go into your OBGYN and get an ultrasound as well to find out why your missing periods.

I agree - its possible but very unlikely.

A HPT will be accurate about 14 days after conception so you could probably test now and then retest in a week if its negative.

In any case, if you have breast discharge you need to see a doctor to find out the cause (pregnancy or something else).

yes, it's possible. 1 in 200 sterilisations fail...so, unlikely - but possible.
