experienced moms..need help (tmi)

so I'm a ftm and I am 37 weeks today. I went to my appt this morning at 11:45. the dr checked me and said I was about a finger tip width dilated and then when he was done checking he had some blood on his hands and told me that some bloody discharge would be normal. well after I left I had horrible cramping in my back and it didn't come and go just constant and I was bleeding like I had must period. well it is now 5:00pm and I am still bleeding and I actually had to put on a pad. I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was almost a booger looking type thing on the toilet paper but it was dark red almost black and I was still bleeding. Im still having the consistant back pain..is this normal after checking for dilating or should I call the dr??

I called my dr and he said its normal and probably just my bloody show and my mucous plug combined. he said its good because that means my cervix is opening and just to keep watch of my contractions. thanks for the info and concern! ill keep you ladies updated if anything changes!

Cramps and bleeding can be normal but can also be labor, call and see what they say.
