I'm in Wales and I haven't had the vaccine yet as I am only 21+4 but will definitely be getting it. Every year I get horrendously ill with flu. Had the flu vaccine in January after finding out I was pregnant. All of my work colleagues have been sick the past few months and I am the healthiest person there. Usually my immune system is so low that I catch every bug there is.
Also I know a lot of women who have had babies in the bats 3 years and they have all had the whooping cough vaccine, they and baby have been completely healthy. If you are unsure do some research on the nhs and other medical websites. And ask your midwife for as much information as possible
I would never trust a website called smartvax.com ... I have not seen anything on the CDC.gov site ... I give dozens of those vaccines daily and my practice would've been notified if there was an issue.
It HAS been stated by the cdc, go look on smartvax.com
Star3789, yes some people have done studies but until the CDC, AAP, or other reputable medical journal publishes the findings and it's definitive, I will choose to disagree. I know that the vaccine is becoming less effective because the bacteria are evolving. However its just not very likely at all that a dead bacteria (lile whats in the vaccine) will spread the disease. Dead things don't come back from being dead
I'm just worried of what the vaccine 'could' do to my unborn child.
They have done studies that prove it and that the vaccine is not even very effective, they r calling for a better vaccine, vaccinated kids r still carriers and spread it to others.
That's the thing. They didn't survive. Up until the past 100 years or so pregnancy and child birth were the leading cause of death in women. Back in the day women were not allowed to be examined in any area that was covered by clothing. We need to change with the times
Im in the US And I refuse to get them. My 9 yr old baby brother has yet to have any shots and he is healthier than any kid I know his age. My doctor told me I should get that and the flu shot but I wont. Its all up to you. Its your body and your baby. Just cause they are doctors dont mean that they know. How did women servive all the yrs having babies?
You have the vaccine to protect u and baby becs baby isnt immune to anything till after 2 month jabs thats wat I was told by midwife
That's why I said like ... Also it has my been proven that its even true. Just theory by some people. So you shouldn't say things that aren't scientifically validated
(Not saying its high, just not that low, u shouldn't just make up numbers)
Lol the risk isn't that low
@star3789 but its like a 1:5,000,000 chance
Im in the US and I got it at the beginning of my 3rd trimester, which I guess was like at 28 weeks...so far so good, no whooping cough lol. The benefits outweigh the risks in my opinion. My husband recently got the vaccine, too at Walgreens.
Its not going to cause whooping cough, its important to be vaccinated for baby.
I'm not sure if I will get it there's been a lot of cases of it causing whooping cough.
I'm in the US and got it at 28 weeks and what she said^^^
Im in the us and I just got it at my 36w check up according to the docs its good for the baby it will give some antibodies to help protect them
