From newborn. A friend of mine is phillipino and her son speaks 4 languages at the age of 5. If it is done from birth it is much easier for the child to grasp and they just accept it. As they get oldera it becomes much harder and they see it as something they must learn, rather than just accepting it. That part of the brain shuts down around age 5 and it isn't as easy to absorb New languages from that point. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
We live in a bilingual home, we sspeak both languages to him and he understands them too. His dad speaks English and i teach him the spanish . He will be 2 may 31,so teach him/her early
My daughter is bilingual she basicly speaks spanglish... More spanish tho which i dont mind because she understands both and they teach them english at school
Research has shown that babies start learning language in the womb, and by the time they are born they can recognize voices, sounds, accents etc that they've been hearing! Def use both after the babies born but even now the baby can benefit :)
My niece is 18 months old they taught her english, Spanish and sign language pretty much from birth and then now she plays games on the ipad and she plays them in french so she will also know that as well she is very smart!
Yes from New born I spoke to my kids spanish and at school they got English fast so now they all three are bilingual
Start from birth teaching both languages because children learn language faster at a young age. My fiance is Mexican and his first language is Spanish, so he will be talking to our daughter mostly in Spanish. English is My first language but I can also speak Spanish. My fiance also knows how to speak a little of an Aztec language.
My husband and also speak spanish and english. We focused mainly on spanish when our daughter was born. She will be 4 in July and I would say about a year ago we started speaking to her and translating things to her into english. She understands a lot more english. I'm not to worried she will learn English fully when she starts school.
I speak English and Spanish and I let my little one hear English and Spanish songs now. I plan on teaching her both languages at an early age
Birth. Children can aquire at least three languages if not more from the moment they are born. By the time they reach 4 or 5, they won't be able to acquire it as easy and from that point on, it would just be something they learn as opposed to something they acquire, if that makes sense. I learned this while in college for early childhood education.
While in the womb & as a newborn. Speaking both languages to baby is the best way for them to learn.
Mine will be learning 3 languages. Im english my husband is kurdish and we live in turkey. I think there is no harm doing it from the very beginning. We have decided that I will always talk english and my husband kurdish/turkish. We see our child as very lucky and want to make the most of this opportunity. They will have a head start over other children.
I have a friend who's Indian and from the time her daughters were born they spoke their language at home, the girls started daycare at around 2 not knowing any English yet and picked it up very quickly.
