could i be pregnant?

ok, so almost 7 years ago I had gotten my tubes clipped, burned and tied after i had my second son. In March 2009 my doctor put me on the depo shot to ease the pain of cramping during my period. From March until September I did not have a period and in September I started spotting. Well I guess you could call it spotting just almost every night for two to three weeks when I would use the restroom before I went to bed, when i would wipe there would be alot of blood. At first I thought maybe I was starting my period so I would use a tampon or pad and when I would go back to the restroom to change it there wouldn't be anything on it. Well I missed my last shot in november and I still haven't had my period yet. I am gaining weight and people always ask when am I due because my weight is all in my stomach so it does look like i am pregnant. i also had taken a pregnancy test when I first started having problems and other symptoms but it was negative. Any idea on what is going on?

Thanks for all the answers, the last time I was on the depo shot I had been on it for four years and was switching to pills and the nurse told me since I had been on the shot so long it would be impossible for me to get pregnant, needless to say within one month I was pregnant and now have a seven year old little boy. But I will definitely go get a blood test done. Thanks

I was on the shot for 2 years and even got pregnant on the depo shot with my youngest son.  But knowing that you have had a tubal ligation it is highly unlikely, although the effectiveness does decrease every year. I agree with getting a quantative HCG test, and make sure it is a quantitive not qualitive.

Hi, I had the same thing happen to me with the shot. I doubt that you are pregnant, but my body thought that I was pregnant when I wasn't which caused me to gain a lot of weight. Most of my weight is also in my stomach area. I did spot a lot when was on the shot.

Highly unlikely you are pregnant. Esp after the tubal you had performed. On top of that even one depo injection can affect your cycles for up to 12-18 months. For peace of mind do a blood preg test but I am sure it will be neg and the depo is what is causing your issues.
