crazy hcg

supposed to be 6 weeks along  hcg  tests revieled that they did not double, but did rise.. and are at 156,000..  doc was hoping for 1500-2000.. had very light brown spotting last week... any thoughts

I wouldn't worry about how high it is but rather that its going up. The higher your numbers get the longer they take to double. Also, spotting/bleeding can br normal in pregnancies. Have you gotten an ultrasound yet? With my first I started bleeding worse than a period at 5 weeks. Had my levels checked and at 5w3d they were 11000 and at 5w6d they were at 32000. If that trend had continued they would have been 95000 at 6w1d and around 200,000 by 6w3d. My bleeding stopped by the 10th week and I now have a healthy, happy 4 year old.

Have you had an US to check on how things are progressing? Other than checking in there isnt much to say at this point.... light bleeding like that can happen and be perfectly normal and a high hCG level can also go either way...bad or good... I would be curious to

Is your dr sending you for more bloodwork or tests?

Sorry that i am no help at all but its really early and sometimes hCG levels dont double everytime and everything turns out fine... but the only thing that can give you a better idea of what/if anything is going on is more tests...
