I do know in CA they have to have a lot more to go on to take your baby, like I'm seeing everyone threatens. Here is a clip from the actual CA law.
For purposes of this article, a positive toxicology screen at the time of the delivery of an infant is not in and of itself a sufficient basis for reporting child abuse or neglect. However, any indication of maternal substance abuse shall lead to an assessment of the needs of the mother and child pursuant to Section and child pursuant to Section 123605 of the Health and Safety Code.If other factors are present that indicate risk to a child, then a report shall be made. However, a report based on risk to a child which relates solely to the inability of the parent to provide the child regular care due to the parent's substance abuse shall be made only to a county welfare made or probation department, and not to a law enforcement agency.
Weather it hurts the baby or not (became none of us truly know) the truth is why risk losing your baby...the Dr gets a monthly urine sample from you and can check it and turn you in and they will check ur baby and it does stay in the baby even if u quit smoking a few months before he or she is born. Ur baby has no say so if u put that in both ur bodies I'm sure you wouldn't sit on the couch and share a bowl with ur kid so y do it know as he or she is developing.
I live in CA. I have it prescribed before pregnancy. I had hyperemesis graviderum, lost 27lbs in three weeks, and had to take Zofran, Reglan and I smoked to keep food down. I've just had an ultrasound, I'm 20weeks, I've had all my blood tests for defects, and my baby is 100% healthy. My step mom smoked for nausea with all my siblings, not a one has ANY learning disabilities, NO physical defects, we ALL got high marks in school. Matter of fact, my youngest sister is in an international history competition due to her intelligence. There's not enough research to conclude it's all bad. The only thing I could find definitively was like smoking cigarettes, it can cause low birth weight (all babies in my family were over 8lbs) or be a precursor for asthma (no asthma in my family either). And that's with heavy smoking in the last trimester. Of course, I can't recommend it on here, but it's not the end of the world by a long shot if you've puffed once.
I heard of Black & Milds & Cigarettes causing problems like that but not weed.,
Smoking anything during pregnancy reduces oxygen to the fetus. Just something to consider.
A girl I know smoked weed through her pregnancy her son was born premature with breathing problems and her daughter was born with holes in her heart. I would take that risk but the again I don't smoke never have in my life. Ppl that smoke are gonna tell u its okayy ppl that don't are gonna tell u its not. At the end of the day its ur decision its ur child and ur the one who will take the risk
I know PLENTY of ppl who do it & the baby is just fine. Idk where you from but im from Jacksonville, Florida & weed is overly popular down here.,
Regardless of mixed reviews, be careful. Bc they will test your baby is any of YOUR random urine tests happen to get screened and you pop positive once. If your baby has any in their first poop, there are some states with 0 tolerance and take the baby right then.
There's been plenty of research done in counties where it's completely legal and said research has shown the opposite of what misinformed people are saying. It's been proven to promote brain development. I've know people who smoked through the entire pregnancy and their children are more advanced than most.
I'm a medicinal user. A lot of people are uninformed. My baby is perfectly healthy and every mom I know who toked through pregnancy has normal perfectly healthy babies.
There really isnt enought research but there is some, plus what i witnessed
I've heard the same ^ it may not show once they are born but affects there development they might have delayed speech & just over all slow. I found out i was prego at 5 weeks & quit the same day. My mom doesn't do drugs or did them & just feels right personally not to. I did it for enjoyment or when I didn't feel well. Pregnancy will throw your body through a lot! But I agree I won't take no pills! I didn't I had horrible morning sickness that I lost weight. But I just learned to put my baby first before my needs. & also I don't think there's enough research on marijuana & pregnant people. Not preaching just sharing my opinion :)
It can cause severe child developement problems, and several learning disabilities. Just because they say their child is fine does not mean the child is fine. Ive worked with and know tons of people who have had children and smoked weed during their pregnancy and almost everyone of them has a learning disability, a lisp, and even a delay in developement.
I smoked the first month of my pregnancy but i didnt know i was pregnant . And my doctor told me i needed to stop because it can harm my childs brain
Well on this forum, we aren't allowed to say it's ok because they will shut it down. But there are people who have babies that turn out fine. I wouldn't put my child at any risk by smoking weed and I quit as soon as I found out. Plus, I think they drug test the baby once he or she is born and if there's anything found, cps could get involved. I'm not saying yes or no, I'm saying do whatever you feel is right for you and your baby. Good luck !
