c section

Does a c section hurt? What do you feel when your in surgery? And what's better being awake or asleep during a c section? I'm not pregnant just TTC but if i ever get pregnant I'm scared to have a natural birth

I had an emergency section 10 weeks ago. The section itself was fine, i had an epidural for it, all i could feel was painless tugging. Ill admit though it was heartbreaking that i didn't get skin to skin straight away, his daddy got the first hold while i was getting stitched up convict really sucked :-(  he was born 0529am and i wasn't allowed up til 1030 next day.the pain while moving was excruciating, much worse than the contractions id had. I couldn't move to lift him in and out his cot in hospital, i had to buzz for a nurse every time. Its a long recovery , about 6-8 weeks with a 12 week wait for returning to exercise. Unfortunately i have to have another section should i have more children but its not something i would choose x

You don't wanna have a c section if you don't need one..to me I feel like I missed out my birthing experience :/ with my first I had a vaginal birth and it was great your baby never leaves your side except to get shots..I just had my second baby a week ago and ended having to get an emergency c section bc her heartrate kept dropping below 100 bc her cord was wrapped around her neck..I was so scared bc everything was so fast and all of a sudden but anyways when they took her out all i got to do was look at her, no holding or cuddling and then I didn't even get to hold her until 3hrs after she was born bc I was in recovery, also you can't be left alone with your baby until the next day when they let you start walking. The actual procedure isn't painful just kinda awkward bc you feel lots of tugging, pulling and pressure..after you will feel very sore and lots of numbness in the area..they say you can expect to need 4-6 weeks to feel good again

I hope to never have a c section. With a vaginal birth your up moving as soon as the numbing wears off. My sisters have to have a c section and they can't seem to move without being in pain after.

I had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks personally I didn't feel a thing and the only discomfort I had was afterwards when moving from a laying position to sitting or standing when all the stitches would pull a bit, this did subside after a week (I did recover remarkably quickly - was up out of bed showered and dressed myself just hours after surgery) now 17 days after the section I've never felt better but bare in mind I had no complications - a lot of women have alot of problems afterwards. Still can't lift anything heavier than baby for another 4 weeks so if you do end up with a section make sure you have help at home

I have had a csection and also have family and friends who have had them they will only put you under when its an emergency csection or when the epidural won't take you have 2 choices of an anesthetic 1)epidural or 2)spinal they both do the same thing but I have heard the epidural makes you feel like there's something sitting on your chest I just had the spinal and the most it did was make me nauseous but you can't just choose to have a csection it either has to be a medical reason that the mother can't give birth vaginally or the baby is breech or something like that I had to have a csection due to a narrow pelvic region from scoliosis surgery when I was 12

Eliminate pain. But you have to have that even for a c section. Also healing time of a c section is about 6wks plus. And VERY painful. You cant drive or bend over and its hard to move for a long time. Natural birth is what we made for. Personally we can handle a lot more than us women give ourselves credit for :) im 32wks so I'll be delivering soon and I'm praying to not have a c section! Best of luck ttc, and hope all goes well with whatever you decide :)

I've never personally had a c section but have known a lot of women who have due to complications. I'm pretty sure they almost never put you to sleep during because it is very dangerous to be completely out during that procedue. On top of missing precious time with your baby while your anaesthesia wears off. A c section would feel like nothing except pressure. No pain but i imagine it would feel very strange. It also takes about 30-45 min to close up the incision after and you're missing out with more time with baby. I would say always try to go natural. You can get an epidurl to elimi
