okay so i saw this thing on fb

And have been in a discussion for about 3 hours over it lol. What would u do if u found a letter in your kids candy that they received and read about a grown a%$ adult calling them fat and not to eat their Halloween candy?? Specifically targeting the children whom they think are overweight not taking in their considering factors such as metabolism problems and their prepubescent state of mind and thinking? What if the kid is having problems at home and gained weight? What if they don't know if they're full? Maybe they're just big kids and will grow out of their chunkyness after puberty??? You don't fricking know!!! Why attack and bully a helpless child that doesn't understand what is intended as being 'helpful' and misconstrue it as just plain mean?? What do u ladies think about this?? I think its outrageous handing it to a child it'd be different if it was handed to an adult!!

Omg I saw this story on the news this morning. It's ridiculous.  I understand childhood obesity is more prominent now than ever before (especially here in the U.S) but it's not this lady's job to try to teach another person's child. If she doesn't want to hand out candy then she didn't have to. It would be different if she gave a note to everyone that reminded them in a fun way to keep good habits;  eat only a few pieces of candy at a time,  remember to brush your teeth,  etc.  But the note they showed on the news today basically told fat kids not to eat,  which is so messed up.

Yup I agree I was debating with people for 5 hours about this trying to get through to them that its who it was said to n the way it was written. If it was approached differently I would have had a different reaction. And finally after hours of debating I got the "I see ur point" statement haha :) made me feel good :)

I get what you mean. Maybe if it was a paper showing healthy food choices rather than pretty much calling the kid fat. I wouldn't think much of it, there's always going to be people like that. Just like what I tell my daughter "say what you mean, but don't say it mean."

Lol eh its the fact that she gave it to little kids trying to enjoy a holiday. Its bad enough kids get bullied by other kids the fact there's a grown adult honing in on it too would break their spirit. I know I don't see it so much as bullying as its intended warning to watch the kids candy intake but the kid will see it as bullying cuz they don't know the difference. The way it was worded was uncalled for it could have been worded completely different and given to every kid instead of singling the bigger ones out  so then it really is a friendly reminder instead of bashing a child

I would let my kids rip it up n throw it on her front lawn haha!. But honestly it depends on how my kids would react to it..Alls i can teach them is that some people think differently than others and sometimes u just have to ignore them and move on. In other words SHE AINT NOBODY!LOL!

It'd be different if it was directed to all kids and set as a friendly reminder instead of just the overweight ones basically saying hey ur fat don't eat so much candy for halloween
