I have had 8 natural labours but have never heard of vaginal massage or gentle pushing. You will probably find you won't need either it is amazing what our bodies can do.The only thing my cousin did to help stretching was the perineum massage (between your vaginal and bottom)
I'm having a natural birth as well at home with a midwife. She recommended that I do NOT do the vaginal massage. She said that ultimately your vagina will expand on its own when ready for delivery. You'll just end up being sore down there for no reason. But, still check with your midwife and see what she says.
Sounds like a good plan but I've never heard of gentle pushing, but if you ask your midwife I'm sure she can give you answers at least on whether or not she will do that.
