pacifier/breastfeeding

So I was wondering since I'm gonna try to breastfeed if its OK to use pacifiers? And what kinds?

Thank all of u ladies! I didn't BF with my daughter and used NAM pacifiers so thanks again for all the feed back. :)

I also use avent.. Or closer to nature is also good

I used them for my first. It's nice to have to help give your breasts a break between feelings. Babies naturally want and need to suck for comfort and to calm down . So rather then having to use your breast every-time using a pacifier for when it's needed is totally fine

Oh and I'm using Avent pacifiers...she likes the pacifier a lot of the time which helps.

I breastfed for 3 weeks all the time and then I gave her the pacifier to help soothe her. Also buy pure lanolin cream from Walmart it helps with sore nipples.

The best one and the only one my son will ever use is the gumdrop pacifier

I was told with breast feeding the soothie pacifiers are the best because it's kind of like the nipple.

Yes you can first make sure the baby latches to you first. And some babies aren't so picky about pacifiers so your best bet is to try different ones.
