paternity leace in England

Does anybody know about paternity leave in england? my boyf is allowed 2wks unpaid but they wont tell him when it starts. ive read it cant start befoee you giv birth so i wondered if i was in labour days before i gave birth could they make his leave start then. also his days off are different every week. His boss has already said hes not planning his days off in advance incase i go into labout but my argument is when he comes off paternity if it falls midweek he should still be entitled to his days of that week

The government pay companies to pay ur bf to have the time off for paternity leave n they cant deny him the time off no matter what time of year it is x

He needs to speak to someone then, ring CAB as hes entitled to his time off as well as his usual days off.

Hes put it in writing he wants the leave to start from the babies birth but im due next week and as he works in a shop and ota chrostmas his boss is being difficult about it.
I guarantee that as he doesnt have st days off he wont get days off for the week he goes back as his boss will see it as hes just been off and doesnt need them. also of it falls on bank holidays over christmas altho hes entitled to time in leui his boss wont let him add them on to his paternity or have days off that week as ots a short working week. he also cant take annual leave coz of the time pf year.

He can take it any time up until baby is 3 months old. Tell him not to book the time, to ask his boss how much notice he has to give before taking it. My bf was told he could put in emergency annual leave when i went in labour then start the paternity leave after baby is born so he could have the whole 2 weeks with baby and me. He lost his job last month tho so hes home all the time at the mo!

I think its starts after baby is born... But he can take them b4 aswelll...try lookibg at gov website...
