I haven't had a problem with my cats being all over baby or his stuff, but now that baby is here they full out fight all the time at least a few times a day. May end up having to get rid of mine which I really hate to because they are one of the only things I brought from when I moved 1000 miles away from my hometown, but I don't want them fighting around my baby.
My oldest is allergic to cats and long haired dogs. :0 which I had an Irish collie and two Siamese I had to rehome cuz my kitties were curious and wanted to be all up in her face all the time. I put her in the bassinet for a nap, I walk out of the room and back in and my damn cats were literally laying on her face.
That's very true. obviously I don't want to get rid of them the plan is at night to put them in the basement where the food n litter is. they are long hair kittens so sleeping in places they shoupdnt be bothers me a lot more know that they will eventually shed there fur places. obviously if they start doing things when baby is born in a couple weeks and won't stay out of the habit I will have to rehome them cause my babys health is so much more important. thanks
If your too worried about the cats and r baby it may be best to look into rehoming them. But really, im pretty sure ur cats are gonna have more fun playing together then bothering a crying baby. My cats are massively huge.....like HUGE huge huge lol (i dont over feed them btw theyre father was just a big coon lol) and i have no worries. They mostly like to stick together and far away from big noise. Considering babies cry a lot....i dont think theyll stick really close or long enough. Fortunately for you cats grow up fast. They dont stay in that baby stage forever like dogs do lol
My cats slept in my sons crib before he was born and I always spanned them and threw them out. They even peed and scratched up his carseat. But he is 3 weeks now and the cats are a year old and they won't go anywhere near him or his stuff. I don't have to worry about my cats.
There are shock mats out. You put them in front of the doorway and it shocks them just enough to frighten them to not go in there again. It doesn't take long for them to learn and you can take up the mats after
its way to hot to close doors. I had kittens with my daughter and they ate her bottles if I left for more then 5 minutes. these kittens are very needy I've caight them sleeping on my 2 year olds tummy at night and he hates it
I have three cats. One of which I've had for 18 yrs. My boyfriend keeps threatening to throw them outside but I don't see the harm in keeping them. My mom had way more cats when j was born and Im fine
Im not worried about it :) there really isnt much cases of that happening and just make sure babys room is closed and off limits. Ur cats are just kittens too, there not too big. Plus they will most likely be weirded out by the sounds and cries of the baby, i think theyll prefer staying away from the baby. You can always try to have a spray bottle on hand. Whenever they are in babys stuff give them a little squirt. They should by all means not like that and run away. After awhile theyll learn that crib=water, etc. Also try getting them a little scratching post or a toy of there own. But most likely ur cats will adjust very quickly :)
I'm more afraid cause cats like milk that when the baby is sleeping they will try to lick the milk off babys lips and suffocate him. I have hear tons of stories of this happening and it scares me
I have two 30lbs cat thatvr currently sleeping in the bassinet. No point in me telling them no when im not around theyll go in anyways lol i just let them do as they please. They might as well get it out of there system now lol at least thats what i thought
